Green is a masculine mental colour which represents harmony, growth, health, love, concord, and balance. The Holy Grail is Emerald, as is the famed Buddha in Bangkok – looking onto the world with mercy, love and growth. The Chinese use Green as their symbol of joy and happiness at their celebration festivals. Green is very much the spirit of Ole England and is Ireland’s national colour, reflecting that both places are inhibited by people with great love for the forest and field. Green is an excellent tonic for the body and mind alike.
Green is the colour of nature and within the body it dictates perfect balance between the lower mental (mind) and nerves (body), thus the connection through the heart (being the powerhouse) linking the body’s electrical system – working through the muscles. It is the colour of money (prosperity). Science predicts and surveys confirm that if colour choices were given – Green was generally thought of thirdly by mankind.
Green activates the lower physical, connecting us to earth, and is the counter balance to cause and effect. Green eases muscle tension and on a subconscious level, it acts under stress, anxiety, exhaustion, depression and phobias….. no wonder it dominates the South African flag !!
Green is the go between : stimulation and calm – linking the extremes, is the ease over between the physical (material) and the non-physical (unconsciousness & spirituality). In nature, it’s physical being the Tree-tops between the earth (Red-warm) and the sky (Blue-cool). In human terms it is the link between the mind and the spirit.
Physically Green
Is soothing, yet energising and heals infections. It stimulates the pituitary, which in-turn acts on the rest of the glands via the Hypothalamus. It is used to treat the following ; liver, gallbladder (nausea), balances Ph acting on acidity, eases shock, aids fertility, eases flue symptoms, dissolves blood clots, major builder of muscle tissue and is good for the skin, brakes down solidity (congestion/inflammation), eliminates toxins, weakens viruses, modulates Blood pressure and the digestive system, neuralgia (decongest and pain relief), hay-fever, head-aces, cancer, aids memory loss (lets go of blockages), directly associated with heart conditions (heart centre) and shoulders, chest and lower lungs and is a general analgesic.
Contra-Indications– although no know indications exists for Green, for the claustrophobic type and the manic depressives, avoid drowning yourself with shades of deep dark Green.
Therapeutically Green
Brings oxygen into the body, and Green light stimulates the Nitrogen in our bodies. Green activates metabolism, and helps restore anything malignant thus invaluable for the treatment of cancer since it also eases nausea, biliousness and pain. Its governing gland is the Thymus. The Thymus lies in the upper mediastinum behind the sternum and extends upwards into the root of the neck – at birth it weighs about 10-15g and grows until puberty(20-30g), and then atrophies until it reaches around the weight it started off with, at mid-age. The functions of this still mysterious gland diminish as we begin the decline we all know exist, and that is, the lowering of the body’s natural resistance with aging. The maturation of the Thymus and other Lymphoid tissue is stimulated by Thymosin, which is secreted by the Epithelial cells forming the structural part of the Thymus. Perhaps this adds to the mystery of time, being the older we get, the more we are attracted to growth, and Green – on a subconscious level.
The Green Chakra – The Heart Chakra.
This is the centre of compassion, transcending the limits of the ego by identifying with other people, plants, animals and All forms of life - with tolerance, through the giving and receiving of Love, and the act of forgiveness.
The element of this Chakra is Air, its sense – Touch, its plane – Emotional, its planet – Venus, its statement – "I want to give and receive love and I am surrounded by expansive abundance and I am filled with the health and wealth of the Universe". Its symbols are two triangles one up and the other down, representing the balance of 3 above and 3 below – the six pointed Star of David which symbolises the awakening of spirituality whilst being firmly planted on the ground. The oils associated with this chakra are Rose, Vertivet, Ylang-Ylang and Pine. The stones of the heart chakra reminds us to laugh at ourselves, as laughter and humour shakes our rigidity and fixations, thus allows Prana to flow with poise which brings balance -- Green Jade, Green Aventurine, Emerald, Rose-Quartz and Malachite.
The challenge of this chakra is forgiveness, since only through the act of forgiveness can we move beyond our limited belief-systems and dare to dream, let alone ‘allowing’ ourselves real happiness. When this centre is out of balance it births the fear of "I will never love or trust again". Many people within these times have closed hearts, which accounts why so much apathy exists in the world. We are unable to expand as we are restricted by the lack of love (especially self-love), thus renders us unable to unite the opposites within us.
Now that the earth’s energies are accelerating, two new chakras are evident on either side of the heart chakra. It is believed to be so because we need to show more love to the Universe, to all of it’s creatures, plants and humans, in order to play a much more vital part of this solar system.
The Elohim of this chakra is Orion, its Archangel - Chamuel, its Cohan Lady Rivera Rowena, and its flame colour Pink.
