THE KITCHEN:

Make sure all cleaning supplies, vitamins, sharp objects, medicines, poison, and flammable materials are out of reach or locked away in a cupboard. Aerosol cans and other flammable products need to be stored away from the stove and other heat sources.

Pot handles must be turned towards the back, out of reach of your child and back burners are used.

Hot food, coffee and hot liquids must be placed out of reach of your child, not left on the edge of a table or counter, not on a tablecloth which can be pulled down or even in the hands of an adult holding a child.
THE BATHROOM:

The bathroom door should always be closed when the bathroom is not in use.

Children should be watched in the bath by an adult and babies must never be left alone.

Cold water should be let in the bath first.

The geyser should be set at 500C.

Ensure that cleaning chemicals, shampoo, razors, shaving cream etc are removed from the edge of the bath.

Electrical appliances should not be used while water is being used in the bathroom
ENTRANCES & EXITS

Child safe locks should be installed.
-
Ensure that gates are kept closed at all times.
-
Make sure that your children are safe when vehicles pull in or out of your driveway.

Shatterproof glass should be installed in all your glass doors as well as the shower door.

In case of fire or other emergencies are there at least two ways to get out of your house.

The swimming pool should be properly fenced and the gate should have a child safety lock on

All object that could cause injury should never be left lying around the garden.

Shock prevention plugs or covers should be secured to all unused electrical outlets.
