Motion sickness is caused by the motion of the vehicle the person is traveling in. Symptoms include:

Your central nervous system then reacts to this stress-producing phenomenon by activating the nausea center in your brain.



There are many ways in which you can lower your vulnerability to motion sickness. Some of the following may help:

Do not read while in motion
Try keep your head as still as possible and focus on the horizon
Get plenty of fresh air
Do not drink or smoke
Eat light meals

Try to eat olives or suck on a lemon if nausea does set in.

Some homoeopathic remedies come in kits which contain motion sickness remedies, they can be taken before and during the trip as directed. An aromatherapeutic remedy is to inhale ginger directly from the bottle or use it in massage.

The best way to stop motion sickness it to stop doing whatever is causing the discomfort. Reading usually causes it if you are in motion. If you suffer from it regularly prepare yourself by taking medications with you on each long trip. Symptoms of motion sickness vary from person to person. However, you will always experience the same symptoms and in the same order. Over the counter pills may be recommended to relieve the symptoms.
