Imago (Latin for image) is a picture you form in your mind that consolidates all the traits of your primary childhood caretakers, both positive and negative. Your Imago becomes the template by which you select your partner, or Imago match, as an adult for an intimate partnership.

That partner has the potential to help you work through all your unresolved issues from childhood. Yet, it’s those same feelings of pain, frustration and anger carried over from childhood that unconsciously cause the pain and conflict in your adult relationships. Imago Relationship Therapy explains why these differences which lead to frustrations are actually a natural part of what originally

attracted us to each other. Using insights from studies and major psychological research, Imago can help you look at your relationship in a fresh way.

The goal of Imago therapy is to assist in developing intimate and committed relationships. Whether you want to enrich a good relationship, resolve conflicts in a difficult relationship or near break-up or divorce and want to decide if the relationship can be saved, then Imago is for you.

Biography of Paula Quinsee
was first exposed to Imago Relationship Therapy in 2006 and was astounded at how powerful Imago is and the tools that one can use to get a better understanding of oneself and one’s relationships. Having been through the process myself, Imago has changed the way I view people and relationships. I now have more empathy, compassion and understanding for others by applying the Imago principles to all areas of my life and have been actively involved in Imago since 2009 and am a member of the Imago Africa Board.
