Specialist mushroom cultivators: from spawn to ready-to-fruit logs to actual mushrooms, mostly oyster, king oyster, shiitake and reishi.
Based near Howick in the KwaZulu-Natal Midlands, we produce and extract reishi mushrooms.

Our passion is mushrooms in all shapes and sizes, any will do!

Our products include mushroom spawn (on order), grow-your-own logs, fresh and dried edible mushrooms and medicinal mushrooms (reishi).

A medicinal mushroom (Ganoderma lucidum) extract has recently being launched and shows great promise.  Our extract contains the equivalent of  400mg/ml of organically produced reishi.

Our grow mushroom logs include

  • Pearl Oyster

  • Golden Oyster (seasonal)

  • Pink Oyster (seasonal)

  • Shiitake

  • King Oyster (seasonal)

Medicinal mushrooms are one of nature’s unrecognized treasures in South Africa and offer many uses especially to those seeking to boost their immunity levels (HIV), those suffering from various cancers, diabetes, blood pressure issues and others.

We are pleased to announce that all of our reishi (Ganoderma lucidum) is produced organically and locally in the Natal Midlands.   Please contact us for more information.

Reishi – [Ganoderma lucidum]

An ancient healing mushroom, used by the Chinese for over 2000 years, who revered it as the mushroom/herb of immortality. An adaptogen of renown; superior to Ginseng.

Reishi is an adaptogen, adaptogens:

Increase the body's resistance to adverse influences by a wide range of physical, chemical and biochemical factors.
Adaptogens have an overall normalizing effect, improving all kinds of conditions and aggravating none.
Adaptogens must restore balance to the system regardless of the direction of the illness (for example, an adaptogen would work equally well in a depleted condition as it would in a condition of excess).
Finally adaptogens must have minimal effects on the body's physiological functions.

Reishi has many benefits and has been hailed as an elixir of great importance; current applications:

Immune system support.

Cancer support – Reishi limits tumour aggressiveness, activates the immune system and is reported to reduce the side-effects of chemotherapy (higher doses are required for effective cancer support).

Blood sugar stabilizer – in experiments reishi has been shown to reduce glucose, increase insulin release and enhance glucose metabolism in the liver.

Anti-oxidant – with radical scavenging activity it is able to assist in detoxifying the liver.

Liver protection and support - in treatments lasting from 2 to 15 weeks, the overall rate of efficiency was 70 to 98%.

Anti-allergy/anti-inflammatory – significantly inhibits all four types of allergic reactions, including positive effects against asthma and contact dermatitis.

During an eight-month study of Alzheimer's disease, patients taking a Reishi mycelium product demonstrated significant improvement.
Stiff joints are also treated with Reishi.

Anti-aging tests with reishi have shown that it is limits skin DNA damage.

Anti-cholesterol - reishi showed significant preventive and therapeutic action against plaque build-up in the arteries which leads to atherosclerosis.

A study in China found that low density lipoprotein (LDL, the harmful cholesterol) levels dropped in 68% of 90 patients, following one to four months of Reishi use.

Improves memory and reduces forgetfulness.

Relieves the symptoms of lack of energy, stress, exhaustion, strain and short-term insomnia.

I have been using the Reishi
Extract for 2 months and during this time I have noticed that my hands shake less when welding, normally I would have to use my left hand to support my welding hand.  My appetite has improved and I feel less tired.

I’d like to thank you for introducing me to the Reishi mushroom and it’s benefits. My husband has a leg ulcer, as well as skin cancer on his face. Through the years I have tried all the remedies I could find on the Internet without any real improvement.  After being on the Reishi tea for 2 or 3 weeks, both the sores showed definite signs of shrinking. I also rub the juice of fresh leaves of the aloe plant on the sores. Now, after 2 months of the Reishi, both sores are noticeably smaller and showing signs of healing.
Thank you for bringing the East to the West.

I am been taking Mushrush Reishi Healing Mushroom Extract for the past few months and have found it particularly beneficial in the following areas:

Anti-stress

Stress has been part of life at work for the past 3 years.  This extract has certainly helped me cope with the tiredness and lethargy that go with a stressful lifestyle.

The onset of arthritis in my hands has been counteracted by taking the Mushrush Reishi Extract
