Stress is considered the silent killer... I hear this expressed very
often. Can you give us a little more clarity on this "basket" diagnosis?
Firstly, it doesnt matter whether your stress is BIG or SMALL, REAL or
PERCEIVED the body responds in exactly the same way, and causes the
typical fight, flight, freeze stress response. The stress response is
triggered by our six senses, most of which happens well below our
conscious awareness - and, this is the real danger of stress...
Secondly, the automatic stress response causes various chemical
reactions to immediately take place, and as these chemicals course
through our body, this causes acidity. An acidic environment is where
and how both illness and disease can take hold, and thrive.
Thirdly, stress is unique to each and every individual, and therefore
manifests in specific ways for each person. There is no rule of thumb-
what motivates and inspires one person, may cause another to feel
overwhelmed, even breakdown or worse still, burnout. There are literally
dozens of different symptoms which are classified into four basic
symptomatic categories - physical, emotional, cognitive and
behavioural symptoms (which I share in my book). This is what makes
