Desert Rose was founded in 1999 by world music composer, Lynne Holmes. They are based in Cape Town, South Africa, and widely regarded as leading composers, producers and performers of Universal World Music with 14 world music albums produced since 2005. Yusuf Ganief and Lynne Holmes started performing in 2008 and are at the heart of Desert Rose, constantly exploring the creation and emergence of universal world music.

Amy Lewis and Ahiesha Abrahams will be performing solos and then joined by the rest of the group WORDS SA.
WORDS is a dedicated, goal driven and confident group wanting to be successful artists within the music industry. WORDS have been doing everything in their power to get the needed exposure and recognition by putting themselves out there by entering competitions, gigging in the community and various festivals.

Set of folk tunes & originals with violin guitars and vocals from the prominent story-telling indie band Wolf River.
Multi-instrumentalist Le Sar is the popular singer-songwriter and front man of Cape Town based dark in die band Wolfriver. His dramatically deep vocals and rhythmic guitar lines meld well and soften with the soothing melodic violin of the stunning Francine van Rooyen.

10.05PM - 10.25PM: The Psychedelic Theatre presents Moonlight Invasion - 20 mins
Moonlight Invasions cannot simply be explained, this performance can only be experienced live. It is an invite to flee from the real world and plunge into the magic of mystery. During itinerant parade stilt-acrobats and dance-actors glide among the crowd, creating illuminated tableau vivant (living pictures). Stilts walkers draw attention from far away. The mastery of the actors becomes a game, which interacts with adults and children. Their dance becomes a magic ritual able to lift the audience from the ground and take them into a dreamy dimension, with music and sound from the company repertoire. Before or after the parade (to be agreed depending on the type of event) the group splits and forms couples or individual characters depending on the technical structure of the costumes; these characters sneak and crawl in the various places/ locations/rooms in the event area just like a real Invasion.

WORDS is an aspiring group consisting of 5 members, which ranges from the ages 18-20.This dynamic group has become quite a name amongst the local community started out in April 2015 and since then have been receiving endless invitations to perform at events, ranging from birthday parties, carnivals.

8.40pm - 9pm: Action Arte Circus Act - 10 mins
The ActionArte Foundation S.A. is a nonprofit organization (149-997 NPO) anchored in Hanover Park, Cape Flats. It’s objective is to explore circus as a launch pad for physical and playful activities that can provide a safe place for kids outside of the realities of daily life. A space for the kids to express themselves and to build social relations (across communities) in the area. But ActionArte is also a facilitator program, aiming at creating skillful social circus instructors and professional performers. In this sense ActionArte is a twofold process - a set of workshops for children supported by Lansport Community Centre in Hanover Park and a learning site of empowerment and employment for a group of already trained and talented performers dedicated to inspire and encourage personal and social development through circus arts. It is worth mentioning that ActionArte was born out of a desire to do circus with a multi-spectrum approach, with a particular focus on how circus arts and creations can represent present stories within and across social Since January 2014, ActionArte has been a reality in the sense that Hanne la Cour and Marlin Ross along with six other young 'performers' from Cape Town's suburbs.
